THE FLUNKET SHIELD. WELLINGTON r. CANTERBURYThe Plunket Shield, the “ blue ribbon ” of cricket in New Zealand, is on view at the Otago Sports Depot in High Street. Wellington has challenged Canterbury for possession, and tho match will bo played at Hagley Park, commencing on Christmas afternoon- Canterbury will play Auckland at Auckland over the New Year, and if Canterbury still holds the shield the match will bo a challenge one.
