CHRISTMAS NUMBER.

THE “STAB” COMPETITIONS. SIXTEEN-PAGE PAPER ON WEDNESDAY. The Christmas number of the “ Star ” ill bo published to-morrow afternoon. It will consist of sixteen pages, containing special seasonable features. The winners of the competitions conducted will be announced, and a selection from tho entries will be published. Soveral hundred “slogans” have been received, and tho 150 word essay oh Canterbury has drawn many competitors. A special title heading for tho Christmas number has been drawn by Mr ,T. H. Gilmour, and i 9 a very fine example of his work. It is full of humour, and will repay careful study. Mr Gilmour has also contributed other drawings. Tho Christmas Number should make a strong appeal to the children. There are stories and drawings specially for their benefit. There will be a very large circulation, and agents are requested to give their orders promptly.
