Mails close at Christchurch Post Office ea under:For Arthur’s Pass, Otire, Greymouth, Westport, Hokitia and other West Coast offices, overland daily, oloso at midnight; guard's van, 8.30 a.m. For Rakaia, Ashburton, Timaru, Oamaru, Dunedin, Invercargill and intermediate offioes, doily «t 7 a.m.; late fee mail van, 845 a.m.; also 11.10 0.m.; late fee letters, 11.25 tun.; guard’s van, 12.20 pm train TUESDAY, DECEMBER 2. For Northern Ports, per Maori, at -5.45 p.m.j late foe letters, 6.15 p.m.; guard’s van, 7,16 p.m. train. Mails for the United Kingdom, ete., per Raranga, close at Wellington to-day, at 3 p.m. Mails from Rarotonga and Tahiti, per Talune, and Tonga, Fiji and Samoa, per Navua, close at Auckland to-day, at 10 a.m.
