MARKET REPORTS.

RANGIORA. On account of tho holidays a double sals was held at Rangiora yesterday, when the sheep entry totalled 126 fats and 2509 stores. The market was a disappointing' one, there "being little or no demand for sheep of any kind. Prices were below the average, and .several of the lots were passed in. Amongst the sales were:—Fat sheep—2o woolley hoggets at 33s 9d, 9 ewes at 26s 9d, 29 ewes at 27e lOd, and 18 lambs at 20a. Btores—--170 foulr and six-tooth wethors at 26s 6d, 62 sound-mouth ewee at 16s id, 163 four and six-tooth wethers at 25a 6d, 113 soundmouth ewes and 123 lambs at 20s Id (all. counted), 27 sound-mouth owes and 84 lombß 19s (all counted), 73 four-tooth wothors at 25s 3d, 89 sound-mouth ewes and 97 lambs at 16s (all oounted). Twenty-seven head /of cattle were yarded. Springers sold at £lO to £l6 6s, springing heifers £l2 to £l6, three months old calves 40s. About 200 pigs were penned. Baconers made £6 to £7 15s, porkers £3 10s to £4 10s, small stores 60s to 565, and young pigs 28s to 445. In tho poultry department:—Roosters to 14s 6d a couple, hens to 9s 3d, pullets Cs 6d, chickens 2s 6d, ducks to 9s, geese 8s 6d to 19s, turkeys 14s. In tho produce yards:—Chickwheat 7s 6d a bushel, oats 5s 6d, grass seed 3s 6d, pig meal 21s a sack, oatshoaf chaff 7a 6d, old potatoes 10s to 12s 6d; new potatoes 3d lb, gooseberries 2d to 3d lb. ASHBURTON. Owing to tho near approaoh of Christmas tho weekly stock sale woe held at tho Xiuwald Taras yesterday, when there was only a moderate entry, and the attendance was small. Tho yarding of fat eheop totalled 287, of which 163 were ewes, : 6o wethers, 37 lambs, and 2 hoggots. There was only a limited domand, and quite a largo percent-, age of tho stock was passed at auction. Tho following range of prices was obtained: Prime ewes 27s to 30s 3d, others 245, wethers 28s 9d, lambs 26s 6d to 33s 3d. The principal sales were: —Fives, 13 at 295, 28 at 30a 3d, 23 at 275, 16 at 245, 49 at 27s 3d, lat 28s, 7at 29s 9d. Wethers—l2 at 28s 9d. Lambs —2 at 26s 6d, 2 at 33s 6d, 4 at 33s 3d. There was a total yarding of 1636 store sheep, including 358 lambs. Of these 915, including 191 lambs, were passed at auotion. The principal sales were:—37 twotooth cross-bred ewes' (shorn) 355, 163 sound and failing-mouth cross-bred ewes (shorn) and 160 lambs 17s 6d, 24 cross-bred shorn wethers 265, 663 two-tooth throo-quarter-bred shorn owes 29s Id, 390 two-tooth cross-bred shorn ewes 25s 6d. Mr V. Wright, Lagkmor, topped tho markot for fat cattle, securing £2O for a steer, wliilo Mr H. Chapman, Willowby, got £l7 for a fat heifer. The sales were: —1 fat steer £2O, 2 heifers £l4 10s each, 1 do. £l7, 1 do. £ls, 1 vealor £4 ss, 1 do. 355, 2 cows £9 each, 1 heifer £ls, 1 cow £9 6s, 6 do. £l2 17s Gd, 1 cow in profit £9 10s, 1 small store steer £3. 10s. FARMERS’ SALEYARDS. F. P. Claridgo and 00. report having sold at their weekly market at the Farmers’ Saleyards:—Horses (19), £2 7s 6d to £2O. Pigs— Weaners £1 11s 6d to £2, forward stores £4 2s. Goat, £1 3s 6d. Lamb, £1 6s. Hogs, 10s to £l. Sets harness, £7 10s, £5 10s, £5, £2 Is, £3 2s Od; Governess cart turnout, £SO 10s; lorry, £55; r.t. gigs, £3O, £2S; i.t. gigs, £l3, £8; cart, £l6; light express, £2O; delivery cart, £l6; jogger, £l2; box cart, £l2; Massey-Harris reaper and binder, £l4; M’Cormick ditto, £l4; set diso harrows, £10; grass mower, £10; pea attachment, £8; harl'OWS, £7, 16s; milk cooler, £2 10s; h.w. boiler' and piping, £3 2s; barrows, 12s, 13s; saddlo and bridle, £3 2s 6d, do., £2; saddle, £1; collars, 12s, 9s; quantity furniture and hosts of sundries, also heavy linen, all kinds of produce. Poultry sale, Saturday, very heavy yarding, and prices easier. Hens 4s 4d to 7s 7d, chickens 4s 5d to 7s, geeso 9s 6d to 18s Gd, ducks 8s 3d to 16s, turkeys up to £3 10s. F. P.
