CYCLING.
MARSHLAND-MAIREHAU CLUB. The Marshland-Mairehau Cycling and Athletic Club hold a club road raco on Saturday afternoon. Tho course was twice round tho Shirley Road, Marshland Road, Preston’s Road and Hill’s Road block, a distance of approximately fourteen and a half miles. A fierce nor’-wester was blowing while the raco was in progress. There wero seventeen competitors, eevoral of whom found the going too strenuous in tho teeth of the -gale. The results wore as follow:—First (sot of ra-cing tyros), R. H. Ritchie (3miu), riding time 39min 33sec; second (£1), H. Birch (3min), riding time 3Dmin 3-Fffeo; third (10s), T. B. ’Jackson (smin), riding timo 41 min 6sec; fourth, Fsulkner; fifth, P. O’Shea; sixth, P. Hill; seventh, M. Riordan; eighth, G. Prebble. The fastest time was made by P. O’Shea, 3Gmin 40sec.
