A PITIFUL TRAGEDY.

[Peb Pbesb Association.] AUCKLAND, December 20. A woman named Constance Holt 9 was arrested at Pokena this morning and charged that she murdered her child, aged two years. Her husband, a railway surfaceman, left home early to get tho mail. On returning he found perambulator marks leading to ; a creek and his wife struggling in four or five feet of water. The child’s bodv was on the bottom of the creek. It is alleged that the woman had been rather strange in her manner for some time.
