RAILWAY INQUIRY.

The Royal Commission which is inquiring into the causes of the railway curtailment will commence its sittings in Christchurch at the Railway District Offices, Moorhouse Avenue, at 2 p.m. to-day. The scope of the inquiry is to ascertain and report respecting the curtailment of the train services on July 2, and whether the curtailment was duo to the rolling stock having been allowed to fall into a state of disrepair, and not due to Hie shortage of coal. Persons desirous of giving evidence before the commission are invited to communicate with the secretary.
