WORKERS DWELLINGS.

• 4 [From Oijb Correspondent.] WELLINGTON, October 6. The Workers’ * Dwellings B9ard has received tenders for the majority of tho two hundred houses it proposes to erect in various parts of New_ Zealand, and before details axe published the board will report on prices and whether they come within the limit of expenditure fixed by statute. If the latter is exceeded, the Government mav amend the law in its Housing RBL which is still under consideration. The Wellington City Council recently called tenders for *a number of dwellings for its employees, but there was no response, as the building trade is busy and hampered by shortage of labour. Tenders were, however, received by the Labour Department for the erection of tho majority Of its Wellington houses.
