The schooner Valmarie, reported by cabl'v gTam as having been stranded in a fog off the Victorian coast, is probably the Sydney schooner Valmarie, on route from Opua to Melbourne with a cargo of timber. The Valmarie loaded 110,000 ft of timber at Auckland and 130,0C0it at Opua, all consigned to Melbourne.
