RETURNING HOME.
THE CORDOBA'S DRAFT. The Manuka arrived at Lyttelton at 10 a.m. yesterday with troops ex the Cordoba. The troops numbered 16 officers and 340 men, including 112 for Christchurch, 41 for Timaru, 17 for tho West Cbast, and 170 for Otago. Owing to tho strong north-west wind tho vessel took about an hour to berth, and the tug Purau had to go to her assistance. A special troop train left Lyttelton at 11.15 a.m. ADOLPH WOERMANN AT . WELLINGTON. [Per PnKss Association.] WELLINGTON, October 2. Tho Adolph Woermann, via Panama Canal, arrived last night, and being passed a clean ship, was berthed at ten o'clock this morning. When six days out from Plymouth a fireman jumped overboard in the night time. The men complain strongly of the quality and the quantity of the food supplied on hoard, alleging that the food was insufficient and often poor in quality and badly cooked. Tho supply of potatoes ran out six days before arrival. Mrs W. J. Crooks, Moon Street, Ashburton, has received advice that her son, Sergeant J. S. Crooks, N.Z.F.A., who left with tho Fifteenth Reinforcements, is returning by the Remuera. Sergeant Crooks lesicled in Christchurch for some time prior to enlisting-
