SHIPBUILDING
WASHINGTON, August 5. At Philadelphia President Wilson and Mrs Wilson assisted at the launching of a vessel at the new yards. Mr E. N. Hurley, chairman of the Shipping Board, said the occasion marked the inauguration of high-speed production from tho United States yards, with the ultimate purposo of giving the United States a great mercantile marine.
THE FOOD POSITION
LONDON, August 5
Nine United States Congressmen, now visiting England, in a joint statement point out that America’s agricultural production is sufficient to feed the peoples of Britain, France and Italj: as well as America.
THE LIBERTY ARMY
1,500,000 MEN IN EUROPE
LONDON, August 5. One million five hundred thousand American soldiers are now in Europe. There will be 2,000,000 by the end of October, and a further 1.500.000 will be in training in tho United Stales.
