FIRES.
[Pur Prkss Association.] WELLINGTON, August 3
A fire broke out in the premises of tho Wcstland Timber Company at Lower Hutt shortly after o p.m. yesterday, and spread with great rapidity, tho pressure of water being: defective. The whole of the joinery and sawmills portion of the building was destroyed, also large stocks of timber inside. The loss is considerable. The amount of the insurances is not known in Wellington.
