LATE MR M. J. DIXON.
THE FUNERAL. The remains of tho Into Mr Marmaduke J. Dixon were interred in the family plot at the Eyre ton cemetery yesterday afternoon. Tho funeral cortege, which left the residence of deceased's brother, Mr R. O. Dixon, East Eyreton, was a very large one, the attendance being fully representative of tho district in .which Mr Dixon had spenti his life, and indicative of the esteem in which he was held. The bearers were Messrs H. D. Macdonald, Colin M'lntosh, B. Glew, J. Frizzcll, S. Ryan and H. Soarle, and the funeral servico was conducted by the Rev G. W. Harding. Amongst those present were Mcss.s H. T. Cooper. S. Ryan, A. Moderate and James M'Cormack (representing the Waimakariri-Ashley Water Supply Board), D. Hawko and R. H.
