FATAL COLLISION. [Pen Press Association.] INVERCARGILL, May 11

This morning, at Makarewa, a train collided with a trap, driven by Mr Henry Hodgkinson, a farmer, /aged seventy years. Hodgkinson was severely injured, and expired in a few minutes.

W. Haynes, employer! on the extension works at the Grand Theatre, Cathedral Square, was injured on Saturday by a brick falling on him and striking him on the head. He received a scalp wound £fnd was attended, to in the out patients’ department of tho Hospital.
