HIGH COMMISSIONER’S REPORT. Tho Department of Agriculture, Industries and Commerce has received the following cablegram, dated London. December 15, 1917., from the High Commissioner for New Zealand. (Note.—Quotations, unless otherwise specified, are averago market prices on spot). Meat —All descriptions of moat continue in active demand, selling at maximum prii.es owing to continued small supplies. Now Zealand frozen meat, no supplies available; Argentine mutton and lamb, small supplies, llid; Argentine l-eef is in email supply; chilled hinds Hid, fores 9sd. Butter—Market remains as last reported. Danish, Irish creamery and Dutch, no supplies available. French, a limited supply, at 250 s Sd; all others under Government control at 2525. Inclusion French in Government pool is anticipated shortly. Cheese—ls in small supuly. English Cheddar, 1425; all others at Government price. Hemp—Manila and Now Zealand, little business doing, market continues firm. Manila stocks at end of November 17,380 bales, against 58,656 last year. _ Wheat—No bu3ines« doing owing to scarcity of offers. ’ Oats—Market is very quiet, prices are unchanged.
