An enjoyable evening was spent in tho Masonic Hall, Papanui, on Monday night, when a progressive euchre match took place on behalf of the Schools’ Queen (Miss Hilda Yeoman). The hall was crowded. The winners in tho ladies' section were Mrs C. P. Jones and Miss Constance. For tho men’s prizes, soveral tied, and agreed to hand over the prizes to be sold at auction. This repwltod in adding considerably to the funds. Two oorAwrs at Belfast, Miss May 'Wotton and Mr Driscoll, handed ir. a very substantial sum as tho result of their canvass.
