WAR PENSIONS.
WORK OF THE BOARD. [Per Pbiss Association.] WELLINGTON, September 25. Sitting in Wellington last week, the War Pensions Board dealt with 163 cases—lll new claims and 52 renewals. Of the new claims, 49 were from soldiers and wero dealt with as follow:
Of the 52 applications for renewal, 34 wero extended for a further period (fifteen being put on final payment). In twelve cases it was decided that payment should cease forthwith, and two were adjourned for further information. Three cases wero converted to permanent pensions. In tho case of an application for increase, it was decided to make no change. '' Following is a summary of war pensions to date :~

In addition, there are 2215 allowances being paid, at the annual rate of £109,40(3. This brings tap total number of people drawing pensions up to Hv'i)7, and the annual value is £194.841, an average pension of £4B.
