’[lie North Canterbury Gun Club shot off I a twelve-bird sparrow sweepstake on Satur day for Messrs J. Skilling and G. Cndby's IropKy. There wero eight competitors, and the match resulted—.l. Skilling, 12 birds, 1; G. Bruere. 11 birds, 2; J. Chapman and G-. Cudby, 7 birds each, equal 3. In a Bix-bird sweepstake J- Skilling won. killing all his birds, and G. Anderson and W. King, 5 birds each, tied for second place.
