BOWLING.

OPAWA CLUB. Tho annual meeting of the Opnwa. Bowling Club was hold in tho pavilion on Thursday, about forty members being present. Mr John Clarke presided. Tho report showed that the ciub had experienced a most successful year. Fifteen new memhers had been accepted, end threo had resigned. Eight rinks had been entered for tho pennant matches. The club had been well represented at the New Zealand championship tournament in Christchurch lust January, and also in the centre tournament held in March. Tho club matches bad drawn large entries. Reference was made to the enthusiasm displayed by the members in .joining the Opawa branch of the Red Cross Society, itlm club class having amalgamated with that body, which meets" at Mr Claude Fender's house every Monday evening. Donations had been made to the chib by the following members: Messrs TV. Spiller, H. J. TVinc/i ester, W. Broadhurst, A. TV. aliompson, A. TV. Buxton, H. Woociham, W. John Clarko, H. Pearce. R. Eastwood, W. Arohbold. Special reference was made to tho honours board, presented by Mr TV. Spiller, and to the members wbo had relinquished their claim to tho £o debentures standing in their names—Messrs John Clarke, A. S. Brace, H. A. Bruce, C. Lucas, TV. 11. Beanland, J. TV. Hillary. TV. Broadhurst, H. Pearce, G. 11. Bonnington. F Steans, TV. TVcst, H. Hunter, A. E. Talbot and A. 11. Thompson. Attention was drawn to , the fact that two members had enlisted—Messrs TV. .J. Cooksloy, who is now recovering from n wound recoivcc! at tho front, and TV. Ranlin. Tho treasurer’s report showed that the expenditure had anic unted to .£235 7s fid, end the receipts to i’23t> 9s fid. This was considered to be very satisfactory. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Officers were elected as follow:—President,' Mr ,T. W. Hillary senior vice-president, Mr TV. H. Beonland; junior vice-president, Mr 11. Hunter; honorary secretary, Mr A. H. Thompson; honorary treasurer, Mr J. TV. Hillary; honorary auditor, Mr H. A. Bruce; Centre delegate, Mr H. A. Bruce; official reporter, Mr R. Eustwood: committee, Messrs E. S. Jones. H. J. Winchester, F. Ptnberthy, E. TV. Taylor, TV. TVoodham, selection committee, Messrs F. Storms, J. Watson and E. TV. Taylor. A discussion took place upon the report of tho Water Supply Committee, which recommended that the water should bo obtained from the City Council system at an csiima'ed cost of £25. The action of the committee was approved. It was Tcsolved that the club should take no part in pennant matches during the coming season.
