POULTRY. There was a good entry of poultry at the salcvnrds on Saturday. The demand was very keen, and prime quality birds realised good prices. Table chickens brought 4s Cd to 8s 7d, liens 2s 6d to 5s 2d. breeders up to 8s 9d, puilet3 3s to 10s, geese 7s to Bs, turkeys lls to 235, ducks (is to 8s 2d, all at per pair. EGGS. During the week heavier supplies of eggs have been coining forward, and prices have eased. On Friday prices fell 3d a dozen. Canterbury Eg.g Circle first grades realised 2s, seconds Is lOd. Country store eggs Is 9(1 per (Dzon. Preserved eggs are in fair demand at- Is 3d to 4s 4d per dozen. HORSE SALE. There was an entrv of eighty-three horses oi Saturday. The quality of the draughts was not good, except in a few instances, and for these there was a good demand. Quotations: —Tuscan 4s Id to 4s 2d, Hunter’s 4s 3d to 4s 4ri, Pearl and Velvet 4s 9d to 4s lOd ar.d up to 5s for choice samples, second-class milling 3s lOd to 4s. whole fowl wheat 3s Gd to 3s Bd. All prices on trucks at country stations. Oats.—Owing to the -abscr.ee of offerings locally, practically no business of a wholesale nature is passing.
