SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

BECKEXHAM. The Bockwiham School Committee met on Tuesday; present—Messrs Charters (cJiairman), Bullon, Talbot. M'Allistor, Anderson, Judkina and Bailey. It was-decided to place tho grounds in order before the school reonened, to obtain a flagstaff, to complete arrangements for the purchase of a piano, and to increase the library considerably. Strong objection was raised to any scheme to divert the water from the springs in Beckenham Park, especially in view of the proposal to erect a, swimming bath for the use of the children and residents. The children having done so well both in contributions and work for the Red Cross Funds, and having foregone their usual prizes, it was decided that they should be given a picnic at Motukarara on February 26.
