WAR PENSIONS BOARD.
"' [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, January 27. Twentv-eight clajms were dealt with at a meeting, of the War Pensions Board this week, seventeen from soldiers and eleven from dependents. Seven soldiers, were granted pensions and six allowances. One application was declined and three applications were held over.- Nine-pensions were granted to dependents, one claim was rejected and one withdrawn. . . ..... Of seven soldiers granted pensions five were,given £26 a year each.. Tnese were men whose, incapacity was slight.. The other two applicants were granted £52 a year each, then- injuries being rather more severe. Among the dependents two wives were granted tho full pension. Three others were allowed 10s a week each. A father was allowed 10s a week. Another mother "was granted £3O-a, year, and a father and mother who had lost two sons were granted 15s a week each. A mother who previously, had, been granted 10s weekly had the allowance increased to los weekly on production of additional evidence. Up to the present time the Pensions Board has considered 255'claims from soldiers, of which 82 pensions were granted and 102 allowances. Thirtyone were declined, 13 adjourned and 27 are iu hand.
