B 7 Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright MELBOURNE, January 27. The Hon H. Mahon has received particulars of an affray with natives s in Papua. The natives attacked the police, who were endeavouring to arrest, a murderer; One native constable was fatally speared and two were wounded. The one remaining police constable gallantly went to his comrades' assistance and killed five of his assailants. Next day a party of natives attacked the patrol officer, Mr Blyth, who shot three of them.
