German newspapers state that several men recently represented themselves in Berlin as tho Emden’s survivors and were made heroes of by the public, whom they cheated in various ways. Herr Gottschalk, a German State Councillor, states that Dr von Betli-mann-Hollweg has ordered the various states to buy four years’ supply of foodstuffs, declaring tliat Germany must bo prepared for. that period. Gottschalk is visiting Sweden and Norway to organise purchases.
