OBITUARY.

MRS ELIZABETH AMOR

A-very old resident of Doyleston, Mrs Elizabeth Amor, relict of the late Mr Richard Amor, died on April 18, in her eightieth Year. Mrs Atnor wa« held in high esteem by all who knew her. The funeral was very largely attended, the cortege numbering about sixty horse-drawn vehicles and numerous motor-cars. The interment took place in the Church of England portion of tho Ellesmere Cemetery. The late Sirs Amor was born in Bruton, Somersetshire, and sho and her husband arrived at Lyttelton in 1860 in the ship Gannanook, settling in Christch'ufch for a time. They i then took up farming in the •Prebbleion and Lakeside districts; later vremoving to Doylaston, where Mrs Amor resided for the. last forty-six- years. . Mrs Amor had-nine children, five sons and four daughters, two of whom have predeceased her. She left tiyenty-seven grandchildren and ten great-grand-children. Mrs Amor was the oldest member of the English Church, in" the Leeston district and was a Very ardent worker.
