The Cairo correspondent of “The Times ” says that he is convinced that the Turks are no match for the Egyptian garrison. How the Turks can cross the desert in sufficient strength is not clear.

Marshal von der Goltz recalled and reappointed a number of cashiered Arab officers. He appointed Seki Pasha commander in Syria.
