Tho following official report has been issued r A British squadron violently bombarded Westende (Belgiunj). The Belgians repulsed a counter attack at St George and occupied farms on the left bank of the Yser. We progressed at St Eld. There were heavy artillery duels at Arras, on the Aisne, and in the Champagne district, where we gained a clear advantage at several points Wo repelled attacks- in the Mont Mario wood, and also west of Cernay. . MONITORS BUSY. GERMANS ON RET.OTAN COAST HARASSED. (Received December 17, 10.15 p.m.) _ LONDON, December 17. The monitors on the Belgian coast continue to harass the Germans.
