STAFF CHANGES. SIR lAN HAMILTON’S RECOMMENDATIONS. [Pur Press Association.] WELLINGTON, July 13. In pursuance of tho recommendation of General Sir lan Hamilton. InspectorGeneral of the Overseas Forces, that a considerable number of alterations should ho made upon tho Defence staff, his Excellency the Governor has approved of tho following appointments, which will bo gazetted this week:— Honorary Major James O’Sullivan from Director of Equipment and Stores to. ho Honorary Assistant Quarter-master-General at headquarters and to he attached to tho New Zealand Staff Corps while so employed. Captain F. B. Alabin (retired list), from Director of Accounts to be Honorary Assistant Quartermaster-General at headquarters, with the honorary rank of major and to bo attached to the New. Zealand Staff Corps while so employed. Major H. H. Broune, N.Z.S.C.. from assistant quartermaster-general at headquarters to command an area group, vice Captain J. E. Barton, N.Z.S.C. Major Broune will go to Paeroa. Captain H. G. Nutsford, N.Z.S.C’., to be an assistant adjutant and quarter-master-general, vice Captain R. S. Alatthews, N.Z.S.C. Captain Nutsford has been instructor in mounted duties in the Auckland district and will now be employed at district headquarters, Auckland. Captain R. S. Matthews, N.Z.S.C., from assistant adjutant and ’ quarter- : master-general to command an area I group, vice Captain J, R. Henderson, N.Z.S.C. _ Captain Matthews is at pro j sent stationed at Auckland, and will i now be in command at Nelson. : Captain J. R.’ Henderson, N.Z.S.C., from officer commanding an area group , to be an assistant quartermaster-gene-ral at headquarters, vice Major H. H. ! Broune. Edwards, Royal Engineers, from assistant director and instructor in engineers’ duties to bo inspector of engineers. Major T. W. M’Donald, N.Z.S.C-. from officer commanding an area group t/o be assistant general staff officer in a. district, vice Captain J. D. Grant. VO., Ini aerial General Staff. Major M’Donnkf is at present at Paeroa, and now gees to district headquarters, Dunedin. Lieutenant (temporary Captain) G. C. S. Dyer, N.Z.S.C., to command an area group, yieo Major T. W. M’Donald. Major F. E. Johnston, North Staffordshire Regiment, who has been appointed to the command of the Wellington district for one year as from July 16. has lvpen granted the temporary rank of colonel while so employed 1 . Colomel Johnston is a son of the Holt 0. J. Johnston, of Wellington, and was horn in the district of which he will so soon assume the military command. Colonel Chaytnr, _ the present commander of the Wellington district, who has been appointed adjutant-general I in succession to Lieutenant-Colonel Col-’ ims (who is returning to England), will tako up Ins new duties as from July 10.
