CHRIST'S COLLEGE CARETS IN OAMP. FIRST DAY'S WORK. An idea iirst conceived and carried out by tlio "Wniiganui Colleginte School and afterwards followed with- considerable success by tho New Plymouth High School, has taken form at. Christ's Cotlego, whore the Senior Cadet* ct' that institution yesterday went into camp for a week's military training. Owing to tho inclemency of tho ~"er<ther the boys aro not yet under canvas, but are quartered in the gymnasium and some of tho classrooms. Yesterday tho lads were busy creeling mo tents and marquees and carrying out other orderly work. They were addressed last night by .Mnjor Piuwili. who spoke on '• Characteristics of the Rifi-crent Arms of th:> Service." The boys wore requested to bring their nnto-hooKs and pencils when attending the address. Other lectures on such subjects as '' rrotection,'" "'lnfantry in Untile," "Scouting." and ''Fire Action " will bo delivered nightly as a feature of the work. The following officers constitute the stall' for the camp;—Commanding officer. Major Pinwill, D. 5.0 .; second' in command, Major K. A. Boleher; adjutant, Captain A. Critchley-ftalmuiwon; assistant adjutant, Captain F. Farihing; musketrv instructor, Lieuti nen' P. b\ Henderson. N.Z.S.C.; chnplgiiI'ev G. S. Bryan-Brown. SergeantMajor \Y. S. (:. Cclclough is .sergeantmajor for the camp. ( amp routine i.t to he strictly adhered to. Sentinels will be posted at the gates to stop anyone entering without a. permit. The. reveille will be rounded at 0,30 a.m. and " Lights out: " at I) p.m. Medical examinations of cadets will be held in the King Kdwavd Barracks on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
