NEW BRJGHTON. . ' : The New Brighton School Comnjit* tee met on'Tuesday; present—Messrs C. H. Winny (chairman). C. Israelson, J. S: Skinner, T. S. R/Jes, H. Goodlands, A. P. Hopkins and .H. N. Hawker. The secretary to the North Canterbury Board of Education, in reply to the committee's suggestion for the establishment of technical t classes at-New Brighton, stated 'that the Beard could not see its way, owing to the expensiveness. of such an arrangement" to agree to the suggestion.. The" Education Board also.-.wrote regarding the proposed school boundaries dividing, the Breeze's Road district from New, Brighton. This matter, with the assistance of Messrs fcjprosen; Reeves and Orr, of Breeze's Road School. Committee, was discussed at the conclusion of the ordinary business, and the following boundaries were decided on:—Burton Road, at Wirihana, following the road to the outlet of the Ayon River on the one.side of Page's Roadj and on the other continuing along Burton Road in an imaginary line and, crossing Palrier?s Road to the river. It, was decided to communicate withXthe Board of Education concerning the agreement. Accounts were passed for payment amounting to 17s 6d, ; The headmaster reported that the attendance to February .13 had been as follows:—Admitted 43, left 62, present roll number 407, average attendance 873, highest uttendanee 380. The report was adopted. The thanks of the committee were accorded to the local Marine Band for its offer a to supply music at the school picnic.

SPREYDON. ■--,.. At the last meeting of the Spreydon School Committee there were present —Messrs "Fenner - (chairman). H. Ellis. E. Hayes, C. E. Brown, Palmer, Smith and W. Loveday. The headmaster's report stated that the school had reopened on February 2, and that the attendance had been very' satisfactory. It was decided to hold the annual school picnic on. February 28, the,final arrang3ments..to be made at the special meeting ; be' held later. The Bath ; Committee-, reported thataso "far the sale of tickets had again been very successful this season. ' The Education * Board wrote stating that Miss O'Donnell had been transferred to the Sydenham School, and that a temporary mistress had been-sent to fill her place; and that Miss Beattie had left to attend the Training College, and another probationer, would be. pointed in her place. ~. Amounts, amounting to £4 were passed for payment. Five scholars Attending-the school had not missed one day for three years, and the chairman's action in authorising prizes to be, given them, was approved.
