WRONGFUL EJECTMENT.

JUDGMENT FOR PLAINTIFF. [Per Press Association.] WELLINGTON, August 21. Dr M'Arthur, S.M., gave judgment in a case which has attracted some attention, in which Francis Alderton sued Edward Ellis for damages for wrongful ejectment when two weeks' rent was due. Ellis evicted Alderton's family, put his furniture out and locked the house. The Magistrate held that it was the landlord's duty to have taken legal proceedings and issued a writ for possession. Judgment was given for tho plaintiff for £5 damages and for Ellis for £1 8s rent.
