DEPUTATION AT MARTON. ' ! [Per Press Association.] j MARTON,. February 7. ' | The Hon W: H. Herries was taken over the Foxton-Sandon tram-line this morning, and. he left the train, at, Pukehui, near Bulls,- when he motored.over the proposed extension to connect with the State line near Marton. The Minister was met by representatives of adjacent local bodies, who also wiaited on him as a deputation. "' i' Mr Herries, in reply, said that he would not 'refuse ■ the connection, but he .wanted more information -regarding ■ the increased traffic to' compensate for the loss to the Department through the tramway.
