He considered that tho Australian batting was below expectations, but thero were splendid, possibilities among tho younger players. • Australia’s bowling was very weak.

A cricket match between the Mount Herbert Club and the United Bays resulted in a win for the former on the first innints. Tho scores were:—Mount Herbert 129, United Bays 44 and 26 for three wickets.
