MARKET REPORTS.

ADDINGTON. The exceedingly cold sonth-west wind, accompanied by rain, which prevailed during tho greater part of the day made attendance at the Addington market yesterday very far from pleasant, and consequently patrons were confined exclusively to those having business at tho yards, tho result being that the number present was much smaller than usual. Several times during tho day the rain fell so persistently a 3 to compel all to seek shelter. As a result of tho rain tho yards were very slushy, streams of soft liquid mud coursing them in all directions. There was again a full yarding of fat sheep, fat lambs were in good supply, store sheep were more numerous than, at the previous sale, while cattle and pigs were represented by good entries. 1 Fat Cattle.— Beef was represented by an entry of 305 head, tlio yarding including a largo proportion of extra good station cattle. There was a good demand for all sorts, and compared with tho previous sale beef, showed an advance equal to Is per 1001 b. Steers realised £6 to £lO 10s, extra to a. 15 12s (id, heifers £5 5s to £9 10s, extra to £l2, cows £5 to £8 ss. extra to £lO 7s Gd. Beef made 18." to 245, extra to 2Gs per 1001 b. Store Cattle. —The yarding was an exceedingly small one, and several ■lassos were unrepresented. Tho quality

Ten three-year steers were passed at £5 15s. Dairy Cows.—Dairy cows were represented by a fair entry of average quality. Thero was a good demand, and a clearance was made at prices ranging from £3 10s to £lO 17s 6d, extra making to £ll 17s 6d. Fat Sheep. —There was a large yarding, all classes being represented, and tho market opened at prices quite on a par with those ruling at the previous sale, the rnarkot for Wethers being fairly keen. As the sale progressed there was a slight weakening, but tho range of values was not seriously affected, and taken all round prices were quite equal to those ruling a week earlier. Included in the yarding was a large line from tho North Island, which elicited much competition, and the whole was cleared at good prices.. For all lines suitable for the Home market export buyers operated freely and secured a good proportion of tho entry.
