FIRES.
On Thursday the New Brighton Brigade was called to attend a ffro in the vicinity of River Road. A whare owned and occupied by Mr Bilcliff had caught fire from sparks from an open cooking fire adjacent, and but for the speedy arrival of the brigade the whare would have been completely destroyed. The contents were quickly removed and the fire was extinguished.
