COLLAPSE OF AN AIRSHIP.

NEW YORK, May 24. j The Morell airship, 450 ft long, propelled by five 40 horse-power engines, fell 300 ft on its trial trip, in tho presence of a thousand people. Air Berkeley, of California, and sixteen occupants were seriously injured, and several sustained fractured limbs. The victims were local residents contemplating investments in a company proposing to build similar airships. (Received May 25, 10.55 p.m.) NEW YORK, May '25.
iVlorell claimed to have discovered a Successful combination of. the principles of aeroplanes and dirigible balloons. When nt the height of three hundred feet his airship tilted nose downwards, then the envelope burst and tho airship fell, slowly until seventy-five, foot from tho ground, when it collapsed. Tho occupants jumped. Seven, were severely injured, the other slightly. Tho inventor’s leg wos broken.
