THE AUSTRIAN ELECTIONS.
TO THE EDITO*. Sir, —Early in th© year a general election took place ,in Germany, at which election the * Social Democrats lost several seats (although they increased their total vote by a quarter of a million). Particulars were cabled out liberally while the elections were in, progress, and several papers had articles on the result, emphasising the Socialist set-back. So tar so good. Now a general election has taken place in Austria,, which has increased the number of Social Democrats from eleven to eighty-three, an increase of seventy-two on the „ previous Parliament. As it is several weeks now since the elections were concluded, it seems as if both cable crammer and editors have ignored the great advance of Socialism in Austria. Why is this tbusfc 1 am ’ UNATTACHED SOCIALIST.
