On. Thursday the Akaroa Ladies’ Hockey Club "gave a very successful euchre party and dance in the Temperance Hall, which was crowded. The euchre prizes were won by Miss M. Wright and Mr R. Bruce. , The Hoathcote Literary Society mot on Monday evening, the Rev T. R. Richards presiding, and the lady members provided the programme. Mesdames Richards and Grant and Misses Mouldey, Pike and Scott read papers; Mrs Pedler recited; Miss Pedler gave a reading and Miss Nixon sung. Miss Weir playing the accompaniment.
