United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. SYDNEY, June 11. At the Methodist Conference, the Bev C. H. Garland moved that the New Zealand , Conference should be given permissive legislation to deal with stationing ministers either in representative or ministerial session of the annual conference. He said that there was a strong desire in New Zealand to possess that power. The Rev S. Lawry moved an amendment making it mandatory that the question should ho transferred to representative session. This, together with a number of other amendments, was negatived, and the original motion was carried by 53 to 20. On Mr Garland’s motion,, it was decided to tender congratulations to the fchr ee branches of Methodism in Japan on having accomplished union.
