The Haniburg-Amerioan Company has ordered from Messrs Harland and Wolff, of Belfast, the largest liner in the world, which will contain a swimming bath. FROZEN MEAT FOR THE ARMY. LONDON, March 1. The War Office, in inviting tenders for frozen meat, has struck out the stipulation that it must be Australian or New Zealand meat. A MAIL ROUTE. ST JOHN, March 1. Sir Robert Bond, Premier of Newfoundland, in the Assembly, proposed to enter into a contract with Mens Brothers, London and Paris, for a weekly seventeen knot service between Killary, Ireland, and Green Bay, with a two hour journey across Newfoundland, whence there would be twentyknot steamers to the railhead at Gaape, Quebec. The scheme also offers an alternative tunnel under the Strait of Belloisle, linking the proposed railway along Labrador, either way saving thirty-two hours over other Atlantic routes. A subsidy of 75,000 dollars per year, for twenty-five years; is offered, and other subsidies arc expected from Canada, the United States and Britain. CANADIAN FLOUR. OTTAWA, March 1.
