THE, MISSING ARTICLES. The following is a description of the' articles stolen from the residence of Mr TV. H. Sormife, who Was murdered at Papakaio:— ■. One. gentleman's Torpedo bicycle, 22in frame, B.S.A. parts, flat handlebars, Perry’s siu roller chain, the bicycle enamelled in block, with Dunlop tyres, imitation silver plate oh the head, width is stamped “’Torpedo”; the 'handle;tips white, with black ends. One gentleman’s gold double-cased Rotherham watch, key winding, number unknown, with the initials “ W.H;R.” engraved oh the case, ana inside the inscription., “ Presented by Church and Choir, Papakaio, August 17, 1899.” Twelve blank cheque forms, numbered from 165,846 to 165,556 inclusive, on the Bank of New Zealand, Dunedin. THE ACCUSED. John Finlay, Who has been arrested ill connection with tlie'Papakaio murder case, is very well known in the Mcthven district, where .he resided for come .years, until about r two months ago, when he suddenly disappeared. He was for . some time in charge of Mrs Duff’s stables, and drove, tire coach between Methven and Ashburton. Subsequently h© acted as cook on several stations, ....,
