In the matter of “ The Christchurch Tramways District Act, 1902,” and The Local Bodies Loans Act, 1901. ’ I HEREBY give notice that the Christ- , church Tramway Board proposes to raise 'a Special Loan for the purposes of, the taking hereunder mentioned, and to seek the consent thereto of the ratepayers in the Christchurch Tramways District, exclusive of the Riocarton-Sockburn Sub-district; — 1. The Undertaking to he engaged in is The Completion and Extension of tho - Tramway Service, including the making of loop lines at Sumner and Lancas-. ter Park, and an additional track from the corner of Lincoln Road and Moorhouse Avenue to the Show Grounds, the Re-construction of the' City and i * Suburban Line to Richmond and Burwood, the acquirement of certain interests held by. the proprietors, of the, City and Suburban Tramway, the con- . a traction of new lines to -. St ■ Albans -■■■■■ East, - Opawa and Fendalton, the construction of an extra track on tho, ' - Papanui line from Bealey Avenue to Leinster Road, and extra tracks in Cathedral Square, and -additions to the Power Plant, Buildings and Bolling Stock. f. The Total Sum to be Borrowed is ONE HUNDRED THOUSAND POUNDS (£100,000.) S. The Proposed Security for the Loan will be one or both of tho following: (a) The Whole of the Tramway Undertakings of the Board and the Revenues arising therefrom, inclusive of the proposed additional workd, but exclusive ‘of tho Riccarton-Sockburn - Line and the revenues therefrom. (b) A Special Rate Made and Levied for , the purpose over the Christchurch 1 ' Tramways District, hut excluding the Biccaxton-Sockbuim Suh-district. The. Proposed Loan is to rank pari -passu with the original tramway loan . of £250,000. Provision for repayment will he made by the creation of a Sinking Fund of Ten Shillings per centum per annum. 4. It is' proposed to pay out of the Loan:—- . . (a) The cost of raising the loan. (b) Interest for the first ' y ear, and, in accordance with Section 47 of the Christchurch Tramways District Act, 1902, interest while any work comprised in the undertaking is being constructed (not exceeding three years.) .
