CYCLING.

A bicycle road race was field at Southbridge on Saturday evening, over a course ■ extending about eighteen miles. Twelve competitors started, and the race resulted as follows:—F. Alick, 3imin, 1; J. McClelland, 4min, 2; J. Barrett,- scr, 3. Barrett made the fastest time, 54min. A race for ladies was held the same evening, the distance being about six miles. Seven started, and the event proved very interesting, Miss E. Hampton winning by about ten yards from Miss M. Simpson, with Miss B. Simpson third. The winner rode the distance in 27min.
