The Woolston Brass Band will givo a sacred concert- in the Theatre Royal on Christmas night. A special programme has been arranged at Wainoni Park for to-day and Monday. The annual fish supper of the Christchurch Anglers’ Club will take place in the Royal Cafe on Tuesday evening. Special railway arrangement's are announced for the Christinas holidays. The Rev W. Ready, who was one. of the late George ■ Muller’s orphan hoys, will speak to-morrow on George Muller’s life and work,.at the East Belt Methodist Church m the morning, apd at the Durham Street church at night. ‘ Entries close this evening at the office of the Automobile Association for the automobile gymkhana, to be held at the Metropolitan. Trotting Grounds on Boxing Day. The programm© includes the first motor-car races hold in the colony. A gathering in connection with the School of Domestic Instruction will be held in the Alexandra Hall on Tuesday evening next. The pupils will give an exhibition of work. Mr G. Gibbs Jordan will give an organ recital, the first of a. series, in St Paul’s Church, next Tuesday evening, using the now organ. The proceeds will go towards the erection of a new Sunday school v Nominations for two trotting races under the auspices !, of the Halswell Sports Club, will clcse on Monday. The annual meeting of the Railway Employees’ Sick Benefit Society will be held on Tuesday evening, in tho Sydenham Chambers. The Woolston Braes Band will give a. programme of music in Hagley Park on Sunday afternoon, a collection.being taken up in aid of the Hawera contest expenses. Entries for the Boxing Day sports of the Temuka Caledonian Society will close with the secretary at Temuka on Monday. The anniversary of the Junior Corps in connection with the Salvation Army will be celebrated to-morrow in the Array Hall, at 3 and 7 p.m. There will be special singing by the children, and suitable addresses. On Monday tho annua! picnic will be held at Papanui. The Linwood Baptist Sunday School aiinivorkary services will be held to-mor-row,. when tho Rev IV. Salter, of Ashburton, will preach. The distribution of prizes will take place on Tuesday evening. ’
