HOCKEY.

SYDENHAM CLUB. The seventh annual meeting of the Sydenham Hockey Club took place on Thursday, Mr H. Firman presiding. The committee’s report congratulated the club on its continued prosperity. During the season the club had entered si’x teams for the Canterbury Association’s competitions, winning four out of five of them, the Saturday senior team securing the championship for the fourth year in succession. Altogether the club’s teams had played seventyone competition games, winning fiftythree, drawing eleven, and losing seven A total of 281 goals had been scored, against 56, and 58J points had been gained out of a possible 71. In'representative matches the club had been represented by Messrs F. Bull, G. W. Ford, J. Jacobs, H. Free, H. Jacobs, P. Campbell, T. Jacobs, W. Harrington, J.'H. Bennett and C. H. Schmidt. The Thursday team had won a five-a-side tournament. , The outlook for the coming season was hopeful. The committee had applied for two grounds in Sydenham Park. The balance-sheet stated that the receipts, including balance of £l9 Is from 1903, had totalled £SB, and the expenditure had been £42 8s lid, leaving a credit balance of £ls 11s Id, with assets' valued .at about £2 10s. The report and balancesheet were adopted. The election of officers resulted as follows President, Mr H.. N. Bates; vice-presidents, Messrs IV. E. Monday, J. Snell, A. J. ■ Lawrence, T. Jacobs, IV. Mann, L. R. Loe, L. R. Langdown and B. Tbrbp; honorary treasurer, Mr F. IV. Woodward ; honorary secretary, Mr B. ■H. Saunders; delegates to the Canterbury, .Hockey Association, Messrs Schmidt and Barritt; delegate to the Canterbury Sports Protection Association, Mr F., Bull;. club captain, Mr F. Bull; committee,, Messrs E.'Huibert, J. Jacobs, F. Adams,, !!. Snell, Harrington, Reid, Barritt and Low; Saturday selectors, Messrs H. Jacobs and E. Hulbert; Thursday selectors, Messrs F. Bull and A. Free; auditor, Mr H. Firman. It was decided to open' the season on the first'Thursday and Saturday in April. •
