AVON ELECTORATE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —I notice, by the “Times” this morning, a political par, to - the effect that Mr A. E. G. Rhodes is a possible candidate for the Avon constituency. If my memory serves me right, it is only a week or so ago that a paragraph was inserted in your columns to the effect that Mr Rhodes was a candidate. This was contradicted in the paper the following day, to the effect that Mi Rhodes had no such intention. Now, these varying reports are conflicting and misleading. Many of those who are opposed to the present holder of the seat, look upon Mr J. R. Brunt as the most likely candidate to win the seat, the figures of the last election being apparent, and it is understood that he has definitely decided to be a candidate. It is useless for three or four to enter the field, by so doing the object they seek is likely to be missed, by the votes splitting.—l am, etc., T ' WREATH-ALL.
