Regarding the massacre of Christiana in Adrinnople, the Vali confessed to the Consuls his inability 'to check Moslem fanaticism. The “ Times ” slates (hat many rifles have crossed the Bulgarian frontier and several large bands have started for Macedonia. The movement under SarafoiFs guidance is likely to soon become formidable. The “ Daily Mail" 'alleges tha t the Porte has contracted -with a Mauser factory for two hundred thousand rifles and a hundred million cartridges. The Turkish military authorities display a great desire for war with Bulgaria. The Liverpool Chamber of Commerce has affirmed the necessity for a fiscal inquiry. Mr Horace Avery, in opening the Whitaker Wright prosecution at the Guildhall, stated that the shareholders of three companies had lost £5,000,000 of capital. Witnesses testified that they increased their holdings owing to Wright’s representations. There has been a tremendous rainfall in London, and the underground railway has been flooded.
