Fusilelle, 8 to 1 Shoddy. Marton held a strong lead for two miles, when Shoddy led to the turn. Fusilette then came again and won easily by five lengths, with Nansen two lengths away, followed by Austerlitz and King Pm. Gosport, when lying second, fell at the last hurdle. Time—oinin oljsec.

Great Scot went to the front at the start, and led all the way. At the turn Acrasia was at his girths, but Great Scot drew away and won easily by two and a half lengths. Acrasia tired badly, and Adjuster boat her by a similar distance for second place. Abundance was fourth, and Patronus and Flagship next. Time —4min 3isec. Time—lmin ITJsec. WANGANUI TRAINING NOTES. [Per Press Association.] WANGANUI, March 3. A larr--> number of horses worked this morning, tmd some good gallops were done. St Lyra galloped one mile in Imin 49sdc by herself, and Mars and (Jingo covered a similar distance in Imin 48 2-ssec. the Cup candidate shaping best. West Guard galloped sis furlongs m Imin 17 l-ssec, moving freely, and Shrapnel Shell and Hatley covered a similar distance in Imin 21 l-ssec, the former moving rather short. Advance covered two rounds, going well within himself. The last mile occupied Imin 54sec. Shrapnel traversed six furlongs in good style in Imin IS 2-ssec, Queen’s Guard talcing a second longer. Halberdier strode twice, round the plough at threequarter pace, moving freely, and Orloff and Machine Gun. both cf whom look well, were restricted to light work. Fakir and Starfish galloped a mile in Imin 48 Losec. This was the best gallop of the morning, and Fakir finished first, but apparently on sufferance. Windwhisile and Deerstalker did serviceable work on the plough, but Osliak and Achilles were restricted to light tasks. Rags galloped a mile in Imin 49!,sec, and a number of other horses did useful work.
