BREACHES OF AWARDS. [Per Press Association.l AUCKLAND, March 5. The Arbitration Court to-day dealt with alleged breaches of awards. John Patterson Carter was fined £3, and £2 2s costs, for employing a carpenter under the wage fixed by award. John Peach, for employing carters under the wages awarded, was fined £l2 13s and £2 2s costs. John Alacpherson, for employing an apprentice plumber at loss than the wage awarded for apprentices, was fined £2 and £2 2s costs. T. AFConnell, for a breach of the tailors’ award, was fined 40s and costs., F. Alorgan, for a breach of the tailors’ award, was ordered, to pay costs only, amounting to £1 10s. The Court gave its decision iu the case against the Colonial Sugar Company, respecting carpenter’s wages, holding that two men, employed about the sugar refinery to do carpenter’s work, did not come under the award.
