OPERA HOUSE.

There was ai large audience at the Opera House on Saturday- night, when Gaiety Company dnU'oduosd its weekly change of programme. The first part of the programme comprised the neua-1 song and danco entertainment, andl was provided by Miss Ida Eoslyn, Awss Beryl Gilman, Aliss Vera Kearns, Mr J. Kearns, Air S. ’Rowley and Air U. Howard. The second part- was filled up with an exhibition of new biograph pictures, a sketch by Air J. Kearns and Aliss Ida-B-nslyn, “Fun in a Sandow school,”: by Alessrs Parker and Rowley, and Scotch smi’gs hy Air Alilier Fraser, lira whole concluding with tt shadow pantomime.

Mr P. R. Dix has now completed his arrangements tor the Christmas season at his various theatres. There will be a pantomime. at Wellington, “ Dick Whittington,” served up in modern style, in tho performance of which 'Air Dix will have tho assistance of Aliss Dora Taylor, Aliss Olive Lenton, Alorrio and- Wilson, the Three pasinos, -a ballet specially imported from Sydney, and a number of other people. After tire Wellington season, the pantomime, will ba brought, to Christchurch, opening at the Opera .House on Jan. 17. New artists to appear in Christchurch include the Wilton Brothers, triple bar comedians, Aliss Emmie Smith, coon singer, and Sheryvin, tho “ musical king.”
